The 7th Congressional District is home to Karla Romero, a Massachusetts native, and true American Patriot. Her love of country, community, and the Constitution drives her endless service as a leader in the fight for Prosperity, Equality, Freedom, Justice, and Liberty. She is the founding President and CEO of Mass Appeal International, a federally designated 501c3 charity. Ms. Romero is seasoned with years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. Ms. Romero represented Boston in the Miss USA Pageant as Miss Boston, she served as a motivational speaker for high-risk urban youth, promoting higher education, civic duty, self-determination, and pride in diversity.
Ms. Romero holds her BS in Criminology and Law, Psychology minor from Suffolk University and her Master's of Human Service Administration. Karla Romero is also an alum of the Initiative for Diversity in Civic Leadership at Suffolk University. Ms. Romero's appointment as Justice of the Peace allowed her to promote family values. As a certified real estate agent, Ms. Romero advocates for affordable housing and sustainable communities. The Governor of Massachusetts awarded Karla Romero for her outstanding efforts in Public Health Education. Ms. Romero is a long time advocate for adequate healthcare for all, as the former Chair Woman for Public Health Education for the City of Boston. Ms Romero currently serves as a Corporator for Hallmark Health Hospitals.
The Boston Business Journal ranked Karla Romero one of 20 Top Business Professionals in Massachusetts on the Move. Ms. Romero is a Foster Parent, opening her home to severely abused, high risk teen girls. Karla Romero sits on the Board of Massachusetts Alliance for Families, advocating for neglected and abused children's rights in the State House. She also sits as the Chairperson for Protect Mass Children, the leading child advocacy organization in MA. Karla Romero fights hunger and poverty in the State of Massachusetts feeding 2,000 people monthly, who have been hit hardest by the recession for FREE. She provides food pantries and shelters with high end, all organic food, promoting a healthier lifestyle and diet. Ms. Romero diligently continues her work as a Goodwill Ambassador here in America and in third world countries. Karla Romero is a rising star in the State of Massachusetts. Most recently, Ms. Romero's outstanding work was recognized by the Boston Celtics with the Hero Among Us Award at the Boston Gardens. Karla Romero received a citation from Senator Clark for her service in Massachusetts.
